Pike, bass, bull trout, cutthroat trout, brown trout or rainbows! If they swim, Jesse knows knows how, when, and where to catch them. Jesse has learned to lengthen his fishing season by chasing different species when the rivers are high with spring run off.
Jesse is mild mannered, a consummate teacher, and he is as humble as they come. Jesse is a master in the wilderness and knows the waters of the South Fork of the Flathead River and the Spotted Bear River as well as anyone. He is a great fly tyer and his special patterns sometimes make the difference on tricky fish. He has a great sense of humor and an unstoppable work ethic.
One of the area’s best hunting guides, Jesse is a true outdoorsman who is comfortable in any outdoor atmosphere.
He is a guide’s guide and often leads question and answer time around the campfire deep in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. He has been a leader in instructing stock skills, hunting, rowing, and fly fishing skills. He trains Spotted Bear Ranch’s wilderness and lodge guides as well as their horse wranglers.
Very few guides in Northwest Montana are looked up to and respected like Jesse Shively.
